Michael Tang is seventeen years old and attended Edina High School from 2014 to 2017.  He is a leading member of the Young Artists Premier Class at Crocus Hill Studios in St. Paul, and has studied piano with distinguished Artist/Teacher, Dr. Jo Anne Link, for the past ten years.

     

 Michael has received first prize at the Thursday Musical, MTNA, and SPPTA competitions. He has performed the Grieg piano concerto as soloist with the Mississippi Valley Orchestra and was selected as a Featured Artist in the MPR Varsity program.  Michael has received masterclasses with concert pianists Sontraud Speidel, James Anagnoson, and Roberto Plano.

 Besides piano, Michael is passionate about math and science; he served as a captain of the Minnesota All-State Math Team during his senior year. He plans to study math and computer science at MIT in the fall.
