Andre Opens the New Season with a Brilliant Success!
Our great Andre Previn Peck opened the new 2025-2026 concert season with a brilliant success. He was the Winner, First Prize in the regional Chippewa Valley Symphony Orchestra’s Young Artist Competition yesterday, Saturday, October 11th. Held at the University of Wisconsin, Eau Claire, the competition is an important regional event of the upper Midwest and open to all high school instrumentalists. Andre performed the first movement of his Rachmaninov Concerto No. 1 in F-sharp minor. As the First Prize Winner, he won a large cash award and will be the featured artist at the Chippewa Valley Symphony’s subscription concert on Saturday, February 28, 2026. It will be held at the Pablo Center at the Confluence in Eau Claire, Wisconsin.
In addition to this early success, Andre will be performing his Rachmaninov Concerto next Sunday, October 19, 2025, with the Golden Valley Symphony Orchestra. The concert will be held at the Golden Valley Lutheran Church, 5501 Glenwood Avenue, Golden Valley. This opportunity is the result of Andre’s win of the orchestra’s concerto competition (another regional event) last spring. Not yet 16, Andre will have performed with ten different orchestras (3 of them twice with different concertos). This has to be some kind of record! His two performances each with the world-class Fort Worth Symphony and the Seen Worldwide Orchestra of Chicago were the result of international awards.
Also - on his docket - will be a performance on Monday evening, October 27th, 2025, at the University of Minnesota. Andre was selected to perform (along with two university students from the U of M School of Music) in the Masterclass of world-famous Jean-Efflam Bavouzet. Bavouzet is currently on a world tour performing the complete works for piano of his French countryman, Maurice Ravel. Bavouzet is in the Cities to perform the Ravel in two recitals at the Ordway in St. Paul as part of his world tour.
All the best to Andre, our entire studio of gifted & talented students, and our great parents for their amazing support of our artistic endeavors!
