Kenny is in town, and will be performing a solo recital this weekend in the Twin Cities. The recital is Saturday, January 14, 2017, 2:30 pm at our "Home Base" of Schmitt Music, Edina.

Collin Jinks was named the First Place Winner, State Division, of the Music Teachers National Association (MTNA) National Young Artist Competition. The State Division was held in November at St.Olaf College in Northfield. Collin will represent the State of Minnesota in the West-Central Division Competition at the University of Colorado, Boulder, in January.

From an initial pool of almost three hundred applicants worldwide, our alumnus, Kenny Broberg, took Fourth Place in the Sydney International Piano Competition. The competition was held at the world renowned Sydney Opera House in Australia. Kenny presented almost four hours of works in six rounds that spanned more than two weeks of competition. Works presented were comprised of solo, chamber, and concerto literature.

The fall of 2015 not only fulfilled, but exceeded our greatest hopes and expectations for the most impressive beginning yet of a new season. Our students garnered a huge swath of honors, awards, and achievements.

The season opened in October with a number of prestigious guest performances by Collin Jinks, Noah and Nita Qiu, and Christina Waldron.

On January 10th, in a month jammed packed with dramatic events, our twelve year old Nita Qiu continued her journey to the National Finals of the Music Teachers National Association (MTNA) National Young Artist Competition by winning First Place in the West Central Division (representing eight states).
