As a result of reaching the finals of the Rising Stars Concerto Competition of the La Crosse Symphony Orchestra, our Deling Chen, 15, will have the opportunity to perform with the symphony in a subscription concert! This will be Deling's first performance with orchestra. She will be playing the 1st movement of Beethoven's Concerto No. 1 in C Major Opus 15. The Rising Stars concert will be held Saturday, March 18, at the concert hall of Viterbo University. Deling will be one of three soloists presented from which a first, second, and third prize will be awarded.
This is a wonderful event in which the community of La Crosse rallies in support of high school young artists. As you may remember, Will Gannon (17) had this opportunity last year and took home the 3rd place award.
